Nominations for 2019-20 Birmingham UCU Committee now open!

Nominations are now open for the election of BUCU’s Committee 2019-2020. Our branch relies on members like you getting involved and joining the Committee. If this is something you think you might be interested in, please check out the information below.

If you’d like to find out more about what it’s like to be on the Committee and the support we can offer you, including paid time off to do your role, please email us on admin@birminghamucu.org and we will arrange for a member of the current committee to speak to you.

What positions are available?

As a rule, all committee positions and branch officer roles are open. However, it is important to note that the Branch President and the Branch Secretary are standing down. Is it important to note that we welcome members taking on roles on a job share basis.

Why apply?

Our branch is run by volunteer members just like you. The more people who volunteer to get involved in the running of the branch, the more we can achieve together.

Volunteering for a role on the Committee gives you a unique opportunity to shape the future direction of the branch and help fellow members. Is there an issue you think we should be doing more on? Put yourself forward and help build the branch.

As well as the chance to help us make the University a better place to work, joining the Committe is a great way to gain new skills and experience and (we hope) get to work with some great people.

Deadline for applying

Candidates should use the Nomination Form and need to be seconded by a paying member of the branch. Scanned copies of completed Nomination Forms should be submitted to the BUCU Returning Officer, Dr Thomas Farnhill, by 9am on Monday 13 May.
