Workload Recognition Framework

“This branch rejects any implementation of new practices without agreement of BUCU and demands meaningful negotiations in order to reach agreement which is required as set out in the procedure agreement between the University and BUCU.

The branch believes that the draft Workload Recognition Framework document for the College of Social Sciences (CoSS) at the University of Birmingham (June 2018) is poorly worded, inconsistent and vague about how it will be implemented and used.

This branch rejects the proposed Work Recognition Framework in CoSS. This branch demands the inclusion of all academic duties, a significant increase of points awarded for all teaching activities, and clarification on how many hours (nominal) each point in the model represents.”

Resolution adopted, 26 June 2018
